So here's what happened, we went to the DMV. We didn't have the title with us. They told us we needed it. We decided we'd go back next Monday. We started the jeep. It sounded terrible (loud knocking sound and what not). It felt terrible (horrible shaking). We felt a little sad about it's condition. We went to leave. There is a small hill out of the parking lot. The jeep went halfway up the hill. Then it wouldn't go up anymore. I thought to myself, "Oh no! The transmission!" We tried stopping and restarting. It stopped starting...weird. We rolled it back and parked it. We made lots of calls until someone could pick us up. (Side note: Ryan's boss got frustrated at him not having a phone yet and gave him a temporary work phone that we happened to have in the jeep. I've never been so glad that someone got frustrated with Ryan before.) We emptied the jeep of things. Ryan's nice coworker picked us up. Seriously...she's SO nice (and not just because she picked us up). We made it home. We tried to decide what to do. We called the kidney foundation. They said they could pick it up in a few days, but they needed the title. We called Ryan's friend in our ward and asked him if he could help us. Ryan went with him to put the title in the car and take off the license plates. Ryan came back with the license plates....and the jeep! So...we decided to put off the funeral because the Jeep has resurrected itself! (To our astonishment) It's going to die for real any time though, so we're doing research and have a back-up plan for always.
What a great, funny story about Jeep resurrection. Better find the title so it can be properly buried the next time.
